America's favorite TV uncle, Full House's Dave Coulier, is married to wellness instructor Melissa Bring.

The couple first met at a restaurant in Montana, where Bring is from, in 2005. Nearly a decade later, they announced their engagement. “Melissa has been, truly, my best friend for nine years,” Coulier told PEOPLE in June 2014. “We simply thought we would just make it a lifetime."

Surrounded by family and friends, including the Full House cast, Coulier and Bring wed in July 2014 at the O’Hair Ranch Lodge in Paradise Valley, Mont.

Fast forward, when Coulier exclusively told PEOPLE that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, he opened up about how Bring motivated him to seek treatment and keep a positive mindset after sharing the news with her.

“I looked at how those words affected [my wife] and I thought, ‘You know what? I'm going to be strong throughout this, not just for me, but I'm going to be strong for her,’ ” he said on Nov. 13.

So who is Dave Coulier's wife? Here's everything to know about Melissa Bring and her relationship with the actor.

She was born and raised in Montana

Bring was born and raised in Livingston, Mont., which she described to VoyageLA as "a rural, creative town tucked away in the Rocky Mountains."

Her mother was an author, and her father was a lumberjack. Bring told the outlet that she, along with her three siblings, would "spend the summers in the woods," relying on their creativity and imagination for entertainment.

After growing up near Yellowstone National Park, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her photography career (and continue her relationship with Coulier). According to Bring's Living Well with Mel and Mel bio, she and the actor now reside in Detroit — roughly 20 minutes from where Coulier grew up in St. Clair Shores, Mich.

Bring discovered her love for photography at a young age.

"My grandmother gifted me a camera at age 11," she shared with VoyageLA. "I was introduced to 4-H shortly after I received my camera. They offered photography. I eagerly submitted the maximum entries each year for the fair."

Bring eventually joined her high school yearbook and went on to study photography at Spokane Falls Community College in Washington.

Torn between the decision to move to L.A. or New York City, she settled on California after meeting Coulier at her restaurant job in Bozeman, Mont. Bring's Instagram is now proof that her professional photography career took off.

Over the years, she's snapped pictures of several celebrities, including Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin and Mckenna Grace.

In 2008, the pair made their red carpet debut at Comedy Central's Roast of Bob Saget in L.A. Bring donned a little black dress, while Coulier complemented her in a black suit.

Since then, they have only attended a few Hollywood events together, such as Hello Kitty Con in 2014 and the TV Land Icon Awards two years later.

Coulier and Bring wed at the O’Hair Ranch Lodge in Montana on July 2, 2014.

The comedian later told PEOPLE that the ceremony was brief. “It was probably six minutes [long]," Coulier said. “Everybody was like, ‘That was the best wedding ceremony ever!’ "

The wedding festivities, which included a pig roast, were attended by Coulier's beloved Full House costars.

"Bob Saget and John Stamos pulled me aside after the ceremony. We laughed and we hugged and we kissed each other like three brothers do," he recalled. "There were genuine tears of joy welling up in our eyes.”

Bring added that she and Coulier decided to say personal vows instead of traditional ones. "We say our vows daily to each other," she said.

She's a stepmom to Coulier’s son

Before Bring, Coulier was married to Jayne Modean from 1990 to 1992 and they welcomed a son named Luc.

During a Q&A with her Instagram followers, Bring was asked about wanting kids. She responded, "[I] love being a stepmom!"

Coulier will soon become a grandfather as Luc is currently expecting his first child with his wife, Alex.

Her Lupus diagnosis inspired a pivot in her career

In 2006, Bring was diagnosed with Lupus — a chronic autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks healthy tissues.

"I was driving, [I] blacked out and was taken to the hospital. They found out that I had a blood clot, and after many tests, we found out that it was lupus," she shared on her Instagram Stories.

Her diagnosis eventually led her to launch Living Well with Mel and Mel in 2020 alongside her co-founder and nutritionist Melanie Samuels. In an interview with Seen Magazine in January 2024, Bring described Living Well as an "inclusive wellness brand centered around living a life free of inflammation."

Two years later, Bring founded Moving Well with Mel after becoming a certified group fitness instructor and a pain-free movement specialist, according to the outlet. She teaches group exercise classes and private lessons at The Corner Studio in Michigan, focusing on breathwork.

In January 2024, Bring made an appearance on The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast during which she and Bure talked about their nearly 20-year friendship that started at a hockey game.

"Lori [Loughlin] was there with you," Bring recalled of the sporting event. "I was very nervous and intimidated. I was like, 'I'm meeting people I used to watch on television.' So surreal and weird."

Bure added, "We became fast friends."

After Saget's unexpected death in January 2022, Bring paid tribute to her longtime friend on Instagram.

"A loss too big to express," she wrote. "The capacity in which he loved was unmatched. Every text or conversation he had to be the last one to say 'I love you,' even if it was already said. Bob, we’ll be holding your girls and lady extra tight for you. I love you."

She has been supporting Coulier through his cancer diagnosis

Coulier was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2024. While speaking to PEOPLE a month later, the actor said he and Bring, along with several friends in the medical field, worked together to tackle his cancer diagnosis “head-on.”

On Instagram, Bring expressed how she feels uniquely prepared to be her husband's caretaker considering her holistic wellness background.

"We’re focusing on fueling his body with real whole foods, cutting out refined sugar & processed foods, spending time in nature, and incorporating infrared saunas, breathwork, and massages to support Dave’s strength and comfort," she wrote.

"Dave’s resilience inspires me every day, and together, we’re doing everything to support his recovery — with plenty of laughter to keep spirits high," Bring added.
