The Walking Dead lives on.

The series first premiered to critical acclaim and soaring ratings in October 2010 with the episode "Days Gone Bye," initially following Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after he woke up from a coma to discover the world being overrun by reanimated corpses, then examining the adaptation of the human condition as a whole to the grisly new world.

The cast was diverse and changed frequently throughout the series as survivors got killed off, had children and went through time jumps. Stars included Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha Williams, Michael Rooker as Merle Dixon, Ross Marquand as Aaron, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Laurie Holden as Andrea and Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Tyler James Williams as Noah and Alexandra Breckenridge as Jessie — to name just a few.

The series remains one of AMC's biggest flagship shows alongside Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and ran for 11 seasons, concluding on Nov. 20, 2022.

Whether you're just getting into the Walking Dead universe or are gearing up to binge the original series ahead of the premiere of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, find out how to watch and stream every season of The Walking Dead and its spinoffs.

Where can I watch The Walking Dead spinoffs?

The original The Walking Dead spawned six other spinoff series since the show first debuted. Each show had its own twist on The Walking Dead universe, with some serving as prequels, others concurrent and some in the future relative to the original series' timeline. Here's how to watch every Walking Dead spinoff.

Fear the Walking Dead

Fear the Walking Dead was the first-ever spinoff of the original series, premiering in 2015 and running for eight seasons. The show focuses on the beginnings of the mass infection, and the first season especially features simple moments that are particularly chilling. Survivors still taking out the garbage for trash collection day and bored, frustrated teens texting each other provide scenarios that make the show all the more terrifying for their depiction of realism in the face of early days of disaster.

Kim Dickens stars as Madison Clark, who struggles to navigate a rapidly-changing world with her family — which had its own issues before walkers ever entered the picture. Colman Domingo has a star turn as Victor Strand. Lennie James reprises his fan-favorite role of Morgan Jones from The Walking Dead in Fear the Walking Dead. Without spoiling too much, there are hints in the series finale that his character may reappear once again alongside his longtime friend Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

Fear the Walking Dead is available on AMC+, Philo and Sling TV. You can also rent or purchase episodes and entire seasons from Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Vudu and YouTube.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

Taking place a decade after the onset of the zombie apocalypse, The Walking Dead: World Beyond follows a group of four teenagers on a cross-country trek to reconnect with and save their father. Pollyanna McIntosh appears in World Beyond as her character in the original Walking Dead series, Jadis Stokes, tying it into the larger TWD universe.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond only has two seasons, and that's by design. Showrunner Matthew Negrete previously told Entertainment Weekly that in order to make the series feel different from other TWD entities, it was created to be a shorter, linear story that wasn't "open-ended."

"I think for all of us, we feel like we could write these characters forever," he said. "But at the same time, it's nice to be able to approach a series from beginning to end kind of knowing what our ending is going to be and working towards that ending."

Both full seasons of The Walking Dead: World Beyond are available for streaming on AMC+, Sling TV and Philo. You can also purchase episodes and full seasons on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV and Vudu.

Tales of the Walking Dead is an anthology series within The Walking Dead universe. The show, which ran for a single season in 2022, introduces new characters and provides more depth to existing characters within the franchise, including villain Alpha (Samantha Morton). Olivia Munn, Terry Crews, Jillian Bell, Danny Ramirez, Jessie T. Usher, Parker Posey and Anthony Edwards are among other stars appearing in the series.

Episodes can span from pre-walker years to the franchise's present day, showing how characters' individual lives and arcs were impacted by the advent of the dead rising. One particular highlight: Bell and Posey's comedic time loop episode, "Blair/Gina," in which they star as rival workers at an insurance company who spend the day bickering as the zombie apocalypse begins around them.

"All of the episodes boil down to each of these characters having to figure out who they are at the end of the world," showrunner Channing Powell previously told Entertainment Weekly. "You can present a certain person in your everyday life. You can hope to be somebody. But when you're faced with life and death circumstances, who you truly are really comes out in that moment. And sometimes it's a surprise to even that person themselves. I was always really interested in that."

You can stream every episode of Tales of the Walking Dead on AMC+ and Hoopla. Individual episodes and the full season of Tales of The Walking Dead are available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Vudu and YouTube.

Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and nemesis-turned-frenemy Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) team up to take on walkers in crumbling Manhattan in The Walking Dead: Dead City. Originally titled Isle of the Dead, the show follows Maggie and Negan as they search for her missing son in what was once the bustling Big Apple. A major theme of this spinoff is betrayal, and without any major spoilers, Maggie and Negan's relationship isn't exactly the smoothest.

The Walking Dead: Dead City was renewed for a second season in July 2023. Morgan told Entertainment Weekly after the season 1 finale that Negan was in a tough spot, which is bad for the character's life but makes for great TV.

"Any time he can get put into a corner, fun things are going to happen," Morgan teased. "And so now we leave off here with Negan in a corner, and we'll get to tell the story of him trying to get out of it. Because he's in a bad position right now, and he knows it. That's a rare position for him, other than when he was in jail for, you know, 10 years in Alexandria."

The series is available to stream on AMC+ and Sling TV.

Individual episodes and season 1 of The Walking Dead: Dead City in its entirety are available to buy or rent from Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Vudu and YouTube.

Norman Reedus reprises his role from The Walking Dead in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which sees his titular crossbow-wielding character trekking through France. Reedus told Entertainment Weekly ahead of the show's season 1 premiere, "We knew we wanted to make a show that went in the opposite direction [of The Walking Dead] just because we didn't want to do the same thing." He added that the characters, tone, lighting and even sound were all a change from the original Walking Dead, quipping, "It's a whole different vibe."

If you have cable, you can watch The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon when it airs and reruns on AMC, as well as on demand through your cable provider.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon streams on AMC+, as well as on Sling TV with ads and on Philo. You can also stream the first episode, "L'ame Perdue," for free on Roku and Prime Video without an AMC+ subscription.

The rest of the episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon are available for rent or purchase on Apple TV, Google Play, Prime Video, Roku, Vudu, YouTube and YouTube TV.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live

The newest spinoff of The Walking Dead is The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which focuses on the enduring love story between Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

"The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world," the show's official description reads in part. "Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead … And ultimately, a war against the living."

The show was originally conceived as a series of movies following Rick through a new phase and area of the post-apocalyptic world after Lincoln's season 9 exit, which saw a wounded Rick being airlifted via helicopter by one of Jadis' associates. Jadis herself will also be in The Ones Who Live, once more being played by Pollyanna McIntosh.

The title of the show is a callback to a line in the original series finale, in which neither Lincoln nor Gurira appeared.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premiered on AMC and AMC+ on Feb. 25, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET. The series premiere simultaneously aired on IFC, BBC America, Sundance and WeTV.
