I Can Comfortably Walk All Day in the Breathable Mary Jane Flats from the Brand Katie Holmes and More Celebs Wear

If you’re anything like me, you’re thrilled about the resurgence of the ballet flats trend. 

When it comes to fashion, I never want to sacrifice comfort for style. Flats are the ideal solution to that dilemma; I always feel put-together when I wear them, without having to deal with the un-walkability of heels. I have a small collection of trendy flats, but nothing beats the flair and comfort of my Vivaia Margot Mary Janes.

In case you haven’t heard, Vivaia is a brand that creates breathable, comfortable, and gorgeous shoes made from sustainable materials. Celebrities like Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez, and Katie Holmes have been known to sport the brand — and after wearing and loving my Margot Mary Janes to no end lately, I definitely get the hype.

The flats are made from an airy, flexible knit that stretches to the shape of your foot. They also have an adjustable buckle strap and a square-toe top that offers wiggle room for your little piggies. I have wider feet, but I’ve never felt compressed while wearing the Margot Mary Janes.

The shoes are also outfitted with a three-layer insole that provides targeted support to your arch and forefoot, plus shock-absorbent cushioning on your heel. Although I prefer the bouncy support of a sneaker for higher impact activities, I’ve trekked all over New York City in these shoes, from the office to dinners to leisurely strolls around Central Park, and they’ve been comfortable every step of the way. 

In addition to their impressive level of shock-absorbency, the heel cushions also prohibit blisters and friction burns on the backs of your ankles. That’s right — you can put the bandages down.

My favorite feature of the Margot Mary Janes is their breathable and antimicrobial material, which is made from a mix of recycled plastic bottles and cardboard. I tend to run hot no matter the weather, and Vivaia’s ingenious fabric blend provides plenty of airflow. I’ve worn my pair a ton this spring, and I’m sure they’ll be just as comfortable in the summer heat, too.

The brand sent me the Margot Mary Jane Flats in ruby red, which adds a fun pop to both casual and dressy outfits. I regularly wear them to work, but they’ve also made many appearances at parties, holidays, and other special occasions. Truthfully, I don’t think I’ve ever worn them and not received a compliment.
