The "Water" songstress, 22, wore the custom Balmain piece on the red carpet, and even though she had to be carried up the Met steps because she could hardly move in the gown, she loved the look. "I just love the outfit and how everything turned out," Tyla told Vogue on the red carpet of her "out of the box" dress, crafted by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing and his team. Even though we can only imagine how many hours were poured into creating the dress — a plaster body mold and organza train fully covered in three shades of sand mixed with crystal studs — Rousteing cut off the entire bottom half when the pair went inside. Rousteing shared the behind-the-scenes video of the moment on Instagram (which also revealed that Tyla went barefoot once inside the Met Museum), carefully cutting around her legs while she was still wearing the dress.
