The hit sitcom has been renewed for an 11th season, which will serve as the show’s final one, ABC announced Tuesday at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California. “In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss,” said Karey Burke, President of ABC Entertainment. According to Deadline, it could consist of 18 to 22 episodes. Ferguson addressed the bittersweet news on Twitter Tuesday. “Will be hard to say goodbye,” he wrote. “Love my family.” Modern Family airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on ABC.
