Her father and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s ex, Monty Brinson, will not be attending her second wedding celebration due to his ailing health. “Everyone left this morning but unfortunately for me for health reasons I wasn’t able to attend,” Monty, 57, wrote in a touching Instagram post on Wednesday. “As everyone knows, last May I was given a few months to live, but guess what I’m a fighter and it’s a year later, still not giving up.” Brooke, 29, officially got married last August at a ceremony at her aunt Kathy Hilton‘s Beverly Hills home so that her father would be able to be at her wedding. “Brooke didn t want to get married without her dad,” a source tells PEOPLE. “They were told he had months to live so she decided to get married in L.A. over the summer so Monty could walk her down the aisle.” “But it’s always been her dream to get married in Cabo so this second wedding is really important to her,” the source continues. “Monty can’t travel right now so he won’t be coming to the Cabo wedding, but everyone is really happy he was there for the first one.” Monty said in his Instagram post that he will be there in spirit. “Anybody that knows me I know I like a good party, but it’s better for me to stay here and get better so I can be around my family and children a long time,” he wrote. “My prayers have been answered with my daughter having her dream wedding. What more could a father ask for. I will miss every one of you and will see you when you get back.” RELATED VIDEO: Brandi Glanville Dishes on Which Real Housewife She’d Like to Fire While as of now he has no plans to attend, he admits he may make a last-minute decision to make an appearance. “I do have a private plane at my disposal and might surprise everyone if I show up Sat,” he wrote. “I don’t think my [doctor] would like that, but I can be stubborn sometimes. Much love to everyone and a beautiful Memorial holiday to all. I love you Brooke, now have a beautiful wedding and just know I’m right there with you.” Close
