Khloé Kardashian Says She First Experienced Racism When Dad Robert Defended O.J. Simpson: 'It Was Really Intense'

As The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story shines the spotlight back on the trial of the century, Khloé Kardashian is sharing her memories as the daughter of one of the controversial football legend’s attorneys.

Khloé, 31, says she first experienced racism as a child while her late father Robert defended Simpson, 68, for the murder of his ex-wife and her friend.

“We would get kicked out of restaurants because my dad was defending O.J. or just really crazy things,” she told her guests on Wednesday’s Kocktails with Khloé. “It was really intense, and as kids, you don’t understand.”

The reality star also reflected on her interracial marriage to ex-NBA player Lamar Odom, 36. (The couple split in 2013 four years of marriage but remain legally wed as he recovers from his medical crisis.)

“I would never think to say, ‘Oh, by the way, my husband’s black, so when he comes in don’t let your jaw drop,’ ” she said. “When I moved to Dallas was the first time that was thrown in my face.”

Still, Khloé says her five nieces and nephews, including half-black North, 2, and Saint West, 3 months, look “like the United Nations, and I love that when they’re playing.”

“‘Kids don’t know color,” she added. “None of them would ever say, ”You’re black or you’re white.’ ”
