On Wednesday, July 24, Searchlight Pictures released its first trailer for its upcoming movie A Complete Unknown, which stars Chalamet, 28, as iconic folk and rock musician Dylan. The film covers Dylan's early years in New York City and initial rise to fame in the 1960s. The trailer meets Edward Norton as the musician Pete Seeger as he introduces an audience to a young Dylan, portrayed by the 28-year-old Oscar nominee — before Dylan takes the stage for a performance of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall." As Chalamet performs as Dylan, the film shows glimpses of the musician's performances, travels around New York City and first glimpses at costars Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro, the latter of whom plays Dylan's girlfriend Joan Baez. The trailer ends with Dylan finishing performing a song for Seeger and his family, with one of Seeger's daughters amusingly telling the soon-to-be famous musician his song is a "good start." The movie also stars Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fowler, Norbert Leo Butz and Scoot McNairy; it's directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line), who cowrote the script with Jay Cocks.
