Tiffany Trump Is Pregnant with First Baby, Donald Reveals at Campaign Event

The former president announced that his youngest daughter is having a baby during a campaign event in Detroit on Thursday, Oct. 10

Donald Trump announced that his youngest daughter is pregnant with her first baby.

The former president, 78, shared that his 30-year-old daughter, Tiffany, whom he shares with ex-wife Marla Maples, is expecting a child with husband Michael Boulos, 27, announcing the news at the Detroit Economic Club.

While delivering remarks at the event, Donald recognized several people in the audience, including his daughter's father-in-law, Dr. Massad Boulos.

"He happens to be the father of Tiffany's husband, Michael, who's a very exceptional young guy," the former president said. "And she's an exceptional young woman. And she's going to have a baby. So that's nice."

Tiffany has not yet spoken publicly about her pregnancy, but a spokesperson for the former first daughter confirmed the news to PEOPLE.

Tiffany and Boulos, who is the son of a wealthy Lebanese family with businesses in Nigeria, got married in November 2022 in Palm Beach, Fla., at the family's Mar-a-Lago Club.

The couple began dating in 2018 after meeting at Lindsay Lohan's club in Mykonos, Greece. They then got engaged in January 2021, at the end of her father's term as president — and in the wake of the U.S. Capitol riots — sharing the news on social media the day before the former president left office.

According to a source, Boulos proposed in the White House Rose Garden with a $1.2 million diamond ring.

"It has been an honor to celebrate many milestones, historic occasions and create memories with my family here at the White House, none more special than my engagement to my amazing fiancé Michael! Feeling blessed and excited for the next chapter!" Tiffany wrote on Instagram as she announced the news, adding a photo of her and Boulos smiling together on the White House grounds.

Throughout Trump's term in office, Tiffany was largely out of the public eye and often went months without seeing or speaking to her father.

"They always had a strained relationship her whole life, and it got exacerbated by the presidency," a source close to Tiffany told PEOPLE in 2018.

Tiffany spent her childhood in Calabasas, Calif., with her mother. Maples told PEOPLE in 2016, "That was my choice, raising her outside of the spotlight."

As a source close to the Trump family previously said, "Tiffany didn't get to be as intimately involved with the family dynamic as Ivanka, Eric and Donnie Jr. She doesn't really talk about her dad a lot. She's always been somewhat independent of the whole family."
