Tiffany Haddish Opens Up About Childhood Trauma: 'I Thought I Would Die Before I Was 21' Haddish previously revealed to PEOPLE in April that she had been sober and celibate for at least six months after she had been arrested on suspicion of DUI in Georgia and Los Angeles. However, despite her world having "fell apart," she shared that it taught her important life lessons. “I haven’t had a drink since [the incident]. When I sit back and look at my life, everything that’s crazy that’s happened is because somebody or myself had alcohol in their system," she told PEOPLE at the time. Haddish said that others may also see some improvements if they consider cutting alcohol, and stated, “This is my challenge to people. Stop drinking for six months and just see how your life changes." "You’re going to have your snatched body back, you’re going to see your relationships will be better and you’ll stop dealing with people you don’t need to be dealing with," she added. Close
