Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones is an American record producer, musician, songwriter and TV and film producer. He first gained recognition in the 1950s as a trumpet player in Lionel Hampton's band. Jones has composed, arranged, and written music for Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson. He famously produced Jackson's 1982 album Thriller, one of the best-selling albums in history. In 1985, Jones and Jackson also co-produced the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping charity single "We Are the World." Jones was also a producer for the 1985 film The Color Purple and the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
