Cory Booker

Cory Booker is an American politician and author. He rose to fame when he was elected the first African-American U.S. senator from New Jersey. Booker has served in the U.S. Senate since 2013 and was also mayor of Newark, N.J., from 2006 to 2013. In February 2019, he announced his run for president but later suspended his campaign during the Democratic primaries in January 2020. Booker also published The New York Times best seller United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good in 2016.
