Selena Gomez isn't leaving Disney's wizards alone for too long!

The actress and singer, 32, teased that she will be back on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place as her beloved character Alex Russo “sooner than you think” while celebrating the series' record viewership for its premiere episode.

She shared the news in a post on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Nov. 12, over a screenshot of an article that reported the viewership numbers for the show on Disney+. Alongside the article, she added a short note thanking fans for tuning in and gave them something to look forward to.

“You all made this possible . . . don’t worry Alex is coming back sooner than you think,” she wrote.

At the premiere of the reboot — which is a spin-off of 2007-2012 series Wizards of Waverly Place — Gomez opened up about what it meant to be able to return to the show that put her in the spotlight.

"It's the best feeling in the whole world to be able to bring this back for you and to all the people who have never seen it before," Gomez said at the October premiere. “... I was so genuinely happy to be able to just bring the nostalgia back."

"This is what gave me everything that I have today, and I'll never forget that this is where I started," Gomez added of the original show, which aired from 2007 to 2012.

The new series follows Justin Russo (David Henrie) who has decided to "lead a normal, mortal life with his family" when his sister Alex Russo suddenly shows up at his door. During the Oct. 29 premiere episode, Alex brings with her young wizard Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), hoping to get Justin to come out of retirement and mentor her.

Henrie's character "realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World," the official synopsis reads.

Henrie, 35, previously told PEOPLE that his and Gomez’s “goal” for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place was to “recreate” the community culture that they had felt in the original series and build a “workplace” where “everyone can feel like family."

"There's an atmosphere of love, encouragement and we did that. And I think you're going to feel that on screen," he said of the set.
