During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday, Gomez, 31, told host Jimmy Kimmel about an awkward encounter she had at the 2024 Emmy Awards with Jason Segel, which Blanco, 35, proceeded to make even worse. Gomez explained to Kimmel, 56, that she has a "weird habit" of falling asleep to a comfort show, and lately she's been watching Segel's sitcom How I Met Your Mother before bed. So, when Gomez saw the Shrinking star wave to her at last month's Emmys, she was excited and waved back only to realize to her embarrassment that Segel was waving to someone behind her. "He felt awkward and inclined to then come over," Gomez recalled. "And then my boyfriend goes [to Segel], 'Oh, she falls asleep to you every night.'" The "Love On" singer's reaction was to look at Blanco in horror saying, "That's weird!" "But I do!" she admitted to Kimmel, as they both shared a laugh. During a recent interview on New Music Daily on Apple Music 1, the Only Murders in the Building star gave host Zane Lowe some insight into her relationship with the producer. “Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you," Gomez said. “And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in," she continued. "But I'd have to say overall, it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome.” Close
