Strahovski, 42, and Speedman, 49, currently co-lead Peacock's new Teacup series alongside Chaske Spencer. Based on author Robert R. McCammon's Stinger, the horror series follows several people in rural Georgia being forced to work together as a mysterious threat emerges. Before getting cast on the series with Strahovski, who plays his character's wife, there is one thing Speedman knew for certain. "I've been a fan of hers," he told reporters in May during a visit to the show's Georgia set. Peacock's New Teacup Horror Series Gets Eerie First Look as It's Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 "I've watched her run The Handmaid's Tale, and I was very excited to jump into these because we don't share that much screen time for the first three blocks, six episodes. But when we do, there are emotional explosive scenes, really," Speedman continued. "I've been doing this a long time, and I could tell that she just doesn't have to get motivated too much to the line. She's ready to go at all times, which was really exciting to me. So I knew to bring my A-game the days I was working with her." The Grey's Anatomy actor continued, "I've never met her before, but we had this kind of really interesting, without even talking about it, relationship on screen right away. I don't know. I just trusted her and she's really good, which really helps. So we had a really fun time doing darker scenes, which is fun. It's odd how fun these weird emotional scenes can be." Speedman isn't the only one doling out praise to his costars, as Spencer, 49, told the press during the set visit that it was "fun to play off" the "baggage" the two male leads' characters have. Let's play,' and then we just kind of go, just do it," the Twilight actor shared. "[There was] one scene we had where we had a bit of a fight scene on the silo, and that was fun. Scott's a physical actor, so it's fun to run around, throw each other around and stuff. It's fun times." Spencer added, "I like working with Scott because he's brilliant. He's got so much TV and film experience underneath his belt, so I sort of go to him like, 'All right, what do we do?' He kind of helps out with that." Chaske Spencer as Ruben Shanley on Teacup. Mark Hill/PEACOCK Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman Lose Control as Mysterious Entity Looms in New Eerie Teacup Teaser The series, created by Ian McCulloch, is filled with tense moments and according to Strahovski, production was speedy. "We move really fast here. We shoot fast and furious," she said. It really, I think, makes the show, given that it's a genre piece, it's the way in for the audience to relate to the characters," she continued. "It's a family. It's a few families on this farm and the families have their own issues. Specifically, my character Maggie with Speedman's character there." Strahovski added, "That will be part of the draw, I think, for people watching it is that it's one of those thrilling, sometimes slow-burn, thrilling, but sometimes fast-paced thrilling journey that will go on for the episodes."
