Entertainment Awards Shows and Events SAG Awards The Buzziest Cast Reunions at the 2024 SAG Awards The 2024 Screen Actor Guild Awards served as a reunion hub for former cast members from some of our favorite TV shows and films By Stephanie Sengwe Published on February 24, 2024 10:46PM EST 'The Devil Wears Prada' cast. Photo: Netflix The 2024 SAG Awards were a big night for many stars. However, the jam-packed show also served as a great meeting hub for old cast members. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt took us back to 2006 with their glamorous Devil Wears Prada reunion at the top of the show, and the get-togethers kept on coming throughout the night. Check out all the biggest TV show and movie cast reunions that happened at the 2024 SAG Awards. 01 of 07 'Orange Is the New Black' Danielle Brooks and Laverne Cox of 'Orange Is the New Black'. E! Laverne Cox reunited with former Orange Is the New Black costars Danielle Brooks and Uzo Aduba at the 2024 SAG Awards. Cox, who was co-hosting E!’s red carpet show, first interviewed Brooks, who was nominated for her work in The Color Purple. “We are here. This makes me emotional because every time I’ve been here, it’s been with you in Orange Is the New Black, so now this moment, it means a lot,” Brooks told her former castmate. “Our Orange Is the New Black fans are hardcore, and we had the pleasure of winning SAG Awards here as a cast many times,” continued Cox, referring to the show’s wins for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. “And there was a few of us who were singled out and there are a lot more of us who should’ve been singled out and for years. I was grateful to be one of them, but she did so well and she did so well and you killed it every season. So this feels so overdue but it feels right on time,” Cox raved of her friend. 02 of 07 'Orange Is the New Black' Part 2 Laverne Cox and Uzo Aduba of 'Orange Is the New Black'. E! Cox later caught up with Uzo Aduba, who was nominated for best actress in a TV movie or limited series for Painkiller. “It’s an embarrassment of riches tonight for me ‘cause so many of my friends are here,” said Cox. Though they didn’t reminisce about Orange Is the New Black, the friends discussed Aduba's daughter Adaiba Lee Nonyem, whom she welcomed last year with husband Robert Sweeting. “She’s 4 months old now, she’s adorable. I love her so much. She’s a gift to my life, we’re just truly happy, she’s the best,” said Aduba. 03 of 07 'The Devil Wears Prada' 'The Devil Wears Prada' cast. Netflix Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt expertly trolled their The Devil Wears Prada costar and fictional boss, Meryl Streep with her own lines while presenting the award for male actor in a comedy series. "Two things: I forgot my glasses, clearly, and the envelope," Streep said, before the other two stars arrived to bring them to her. "It's an age-old question — where does the character end and the actor begin?" she continued, with Blunt responding, "As we've just seen, Meryl and [her The Devil Wears Prada character Miranda Priestly] are sort of like twins, right?" "No, no, that wasn't a question," Hathaway added in response, a callback to the film. As Meryl opened the envelope, Blunt continued to jest, saying, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know that thrills me," in reference to another classic line of Streep's. 04 of 07 'The Lord of the Rings' Sean Astin and Elijah Wood of 'The Lord of the Rings'. Netflix In another cheeky moment, Sean Astin revealed why Elijah Wood never got his SAG Award trophy when The Lord of the Rings won back in the day. "How’s it been 20 years?" Wood asked Astin, who replied, "It's been 20 years and yet I’m sorry you couldn't be there that night." Wood went on to joke about their win, telling Astin, "Sean you were supposed to collect my statue for me if we won, what happened to it?" "Well, it's somewhere. If by somewhere you mean frodo-fan-7-11’s shelf because he bought it on eBay? Sorry," Astin joked, with Wood responding, "Sean!" Astin continued, "No, I just read that Marie Kondo book, and it was just sort of a purge. Anyhow, I just threw it in the fire." Wood replied by telling Astin he's "totally taking his gift bag tonight," to which Astin said, "Fair enough." 05 of 07 'Modern Family' 'Modern Family' cast. Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty The adult cast of Modern Family — Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ed O'Neill — gave The Bear cast their honor for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, but not before they joked about life after their own hit show wrapped. While Vergara touted her recent success with Griselda, O'Neill admitted he missed the cash Modern Family brought in and Eric Stonestreet joked that he could call Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Travis Kelce from the stage — then teared up about it. Everyone is doing well, it seems! 06 of 07 'Breaking Bad' 'Breaking Bad' cast. Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty The Breaking Bad cast was thrilled to be reunited, but not all of them were game to do the bit that was written for them as they presented the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series award. The group instead opted to drop a few f-bombs onstage, as Jonathan Banks assured "they can't fire us" for not following the rules. 07 of 07 'The Fly' Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis of 'The Fly'. Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty In their presenting bit, Geena Davis quelled Jeff Goldblum's lamentations over the fact that the cast of their 1986 film, The Fly, was never nominated for the award they were about to present — outstanding motion picture ensemble. "You know, I guess I'm still — even though it's a while ago — disappointed that you, certainly, and John Getz and David Cronenberg ... were in that cast. ..So, yes, it wouldn't have been a bad thing to be up for an award like this," Goldblum pointed out. Ever the supportive co-star, Davis reminded him that the SAG Awards weren't a thing when their film premiered, so "they didn't have this award then." Close
