Rihanna Shares Details of Her Mom Uniform: 'Anything That's Stretchy' (Exclusive)

Rihanna knows exactly what she’s looking for when it comes to dressing for mom duties!

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at her Savage X Fenty Lavish Lace Collection Preview at Nordstrom in Los Angeles on Thursday, Oct. 10, the singer, 36, opened up about her go-to mom uniform for parenting her two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 14 months, whom she shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.

"Anything that's cozy, anything that's stretchy, anything that's easy to bend down and pick my kids up in. Those are the things I look for,” she tells PEOPLE. “Things that don't scratch me, don't scratch them. We've got a lot of work to do in a day of a life of a mom"

The entrepreneur also shared her rules on wearing lingerie as outerwear, explaining, “Lingerie to me should be worn any way and anywhere that you want. Whether you want it to be seen on display outside of T-shirts, inside a jacket falling off, or just to be cozy or just to have a little support.”

“It's the small things,” she adds. “Take my makeup off at night. These are just little things that mean a lot. It feels like self-care and it feels good."

Rihanna announced the launch of the collection, which is available in Nordstrom, at the end of last month with a sexy photo shoot.

In the photos, the musician struck a series of poses on draped white lace and sat at a piano covered in the material while wearing a yellow lace lingerie set from the collection consisting of a bra and panty, along with a garter belt, suspenders, stockings and matching lace gloves.

“Lavish Lace was actually designed to be a part of your everyday life,” Rihanna tells PEOPLE of the collection. “Lace has always been such a rigid fabric and something that women have loved forever, but always relate to special moments and always moments that are meant to be seen and on display, and I wanted to incorporate lace and make it cozy, make it something for every day, make it something that's for you, whether you want it to be seen or is under your jeans, T-shirts, whatever.”

The “Lift Me Up” singer first debuted her size-inclusive lingerie line in 2018 and the brand opened its first store in Las Vegas in January 2022. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength, with Forbes reporting that it was worth $1 billion in 2021.
