Gabby Barrett is excited to become a mom of three!

Speaking with PEOPLE at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards on Thursday, which aired live from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the expectant mom, 23, showed off her belly while walking the red carpet.

Asked about what she's most excited about as she and husband Cade Foehner await baby No. 3, she admits, "Having another girl and another girl personality in the house."

"My first was a girl, second was a boy, third will be a girl again. So love girls, love raising my first one," she shares. "So lots of personalities in the house."

Her baby girl, due in February, is an exciting prospect for big sister Baylah May, who "understands it all."

"My first understands that there's a baby and what's in mom's belly. And she always feels my belly and lays on it, and kisses it, which is very sweet," she shares. "She's 2½ and so she understands it all and is very excited for her sister."

With so much to look forward to, Barrett — who also shares 10-month-old son Augustine Boone with her fellow American Idol alum — admits there's one downside to a growing family, "the loss of sleep."

"The biggest challenge of being a mom is loss of sleep. I think any parent will say that. And then when you add another child to the mix, you have to rebalance and reorganize and get everybody's schedules down. So it's just a matter of being prepared to lose that sleep at first, but you regain it back, so it's good," she says.

It doesn't take away from "the biggest reward," which Barrett says "is getting to see something that you created walk around and flourish into the person that they're becoming. It's very cool."

The "Pick Me Up" singer first met Foehner in 2018 while they were both competing on season 16 of American Idol. Barrett and Foehner's TV romance quickly turned into a serious relationship, and the pair announced their engagement a year after their season of American Idol wrapped.

The couple wed on Oct. 5, 2019, in a Texas ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.

"It is a blessing to find a husband or wife in this life, marriage is a profound and special thing, and we are so excited to finally be husband and wife," Barrett said of her wedding to Foehner.
