MGK closed the show with the performance, playing a guitar shaped like a razor blade as he sang through the track. Once he was done, the "Papercuts" performer remained on stage, starstruck as Shania Twain said her goodbyes.

"I just love you," Twain told MGK. "One of my favorite songs ever."

"Love you back," he replied. "When I was growing up, your face was always in my dad’s car — that album cover."

"Let’s see if that truck still works, let’s see if that song still sings / Let’s see if them miles of corn still got that shade of green / Let’s see if we can find that place I used to know about," sang Paisley. "Let’s see if they paved that old, dirt road that used to run out / Find out if that dogwood limb is still there to hang our shirts / If you ain’t got nothin’ else to do tonight, let’s see if that truck still works."

Miranda Lambert received the country icon award at the 2024 PCCAs and delivered a performance of her early hit "Kerosene" and recent single "Dammit Randy."

While accepting the honor, Lambert acknowledged how "weird" it feels to be considered an icon, as she'd hold artists like Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard, Guy Clark and Jon Prine in that regard. "Those are my icons," she said.

"So, the fact that I get this award tonight is just blowing my mind. It's a lot of years, tears, beers and Tito's, if I'm being honest," added Lambert with a laugh.

Jelly didn't attend the awards show, but MGK spoke about their unique friendship journey as he accepted the honor. "Jelly, I love you. We went from 10 years ago from hating each other to elevating each other," said the musician — more than a decade after the "Save Me" singer released an MGK diss track, "Malibu's Most Wanted."

"Comparison is the thief of joy," added MGK. "There is enough room on this couch for everybody. We found camaraderie in the chaos."
