It's a Girl! Jessica Szohr Welcomes Daughter Bowie Ella: 'A Little Special Sweetness'

Jessica Szohr is a mom!

The Gossip Girl star, 35, and pro hockey player boyfriend Brad Richardson welcomed their first child together, daughter Bowie Ella Richardson, on Monday, Jan. 11, she announced Wednesday on Instagram.

"Added a little special sweetness to our family and some new direction to our journey on 1-11-21," Szohr captioned a black-and-white photo of her baby girl's hand.

Of her newborn daughter's birth, the new mom added, "This journey with Brad and Lexi has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. To then create a human that is absolutely perfect in our eyes and put a feeling in my heart I didn't know existed is beyond words. I have all the feels and she is really something special."

Szohr revealed her pregnancy "surprise" in September, writing on Instagram at the time, "Full of joy!"

While pregnant, she previously expressed her anxieties about breastfeeding, telling her fans on Instagram she is "nervous" about it. "No one ever talks about the challenges women face during or after pregnancy. Breastfeeding is one of them," she wrote. "After watching this instructional video and speaking with some friends, I'll admit... I'm nervous. I'm nervous it will be painful. I'm nervous I won't do it right."

"The one thing I do know is that I am excited to share my experiences of motherhood with all of you because we all know it takes a village."

Szohr has posted about her relationship with Richardson on social media in the past, sharing a sweet tribute to the athlete last January.

"My beach bum baby! 🌊✨😉 I am thankful for you today and everyday!" she wrote alongside a beachside selfie with Richardson. "I know I tell you that from time to time and it doesn't mean I have to post it & share it... but today I wanted anyone who follows me or is interested in my life to know that this man is a special human with a huge heart:) & I am lucky to have crossed paths with him!"

Looking back at her 2020 in a New Year's post, Szohr reflected on her excitement about making "a little human." She wrote, "Still in awe of the transformation my body has gone through during pregnancy. Simply amazing the power of a woman's body!"
