Photo: OREO A beloved cookie brand is bringing its twist on a beloved childhood dessert. On March 4, Oreo will release its latest flavor: Dirt Cake. The nostalgic summertime recipe is typically made with layers of pudding and crushed Oreos to resemble "dirt." It's often served in flower pots and topped with gummy worms for the full effect. Now it's being reimagined in Oreo form. The classic chocolate Oreo cookies sandwich a layer of chocolate creme and wafer crumbs. Plus, the cookies are topped with gummy worm-inspired sprinkles. Dirt Cake Oreos will only be available for a limited time — but there is a permanent addition to the Oreo brand portfolio. Oreo Thins Tiramisu cookies will be joining the lineup on Monday. The snappier cookie puts tiramisu-flavored cream between thin chocolate cookies. Oreo Tiramisu Thins are permanent additions to the brand's portfolio. OREO Taco Bell is also paying homage to a nostalgic treat with its latest collaboration with Salt & Straw. The fast food chain and ice cream shop teamed up to revive Klondike's discontinued Choco Taco. The taco shells are made with waffle cones, just like the original, and filled with cinnamon ancho chile ice cream instead of the vanilla with chocolate swirls that the discontinued version had. The dessert is dipped in chocolate and topped with toasted brown rice rather than the OG’s peanut pieces. Just like the fast-casual Mexican chain’s hot sauce options, the Choco Taco will be served with custom sauce packets. Some of the flavors have a kick, like the chocolate chili or mango jalapeño, but the cinnamon wild berry has less spice. The dessert is also served with cheesecake dip. The Choco Taco will be available nationwide at Salt & Straw's scoop shops and online for nationwide shipping, according to Salt & Straw’s Instagram. While a specific date has not been confirmed, the post says they are coming this summer. Close
