Oprah Accessorized Her Monochrome Outfit with This Convenient Accessory That's So Useful When You're on the Go

Oprah’s monochrome outfit is giving me some serious déjà vu. 

For a conference last week, the 70-year-old media mogul went strictly for the summer whites. She styled a silky long-sleeve shirt that came off cultivated and classy with some matching wide-leg pants, a celeb-approved silhouette. And for some frill, she slung a hands-free crossbody bag across her chest. 

Now, I know what you’re thinking, because I was thinking it, too: Hasn’t she worn this outfit before? Turns out, the all-white outfit she wore back in March, crossbody bag included, wasn’t the exact same, but just another stylish variation. TL;DR: It looked so nice, she wore it twice. And from my point of view, it’s pretty darn practical.

When tight pants are a thing again, you can count me out. Styles that have more wiggle room all around are so much more enjoyable. Sitting for hours at a time doesn’t make me feel fidgety or uncomfortable, I’m not as warm — there’s a reason why people wear snug layers in the winter — and they look more like the styles Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez are wearing.

And crossbody bags, well, they’re ideal for moms, jet-setters, and go-getters. The strap, which you can wear on your shoulder or diagonally across your body, makes it more convenient than, say, a top-handle bag or a tote with a short strap. Plus, then you can actually use your hands to reply to an email, eat your lunch, or make a phone call.

Creating monochrome outfits that feel different from one another comes down to two things: texture and shape. Satin, for example, breaks up the look and makes Oprah’s most recent outfit look entirely different than the last white combo. Plus, she’s worn the shiny fabric before.
