Nicole Kidman is talking about her marriage to Keith Urban and one piece of relationship advice in particular that's stuck with her.

Interviewing Victoria Beckham for the August issue of Vogue Australia, published on Aug. 2, the Academy Award winner and fashion designer had a wide-ranging discussion that touched on their careers, life and family.

And during the conversation, Kidman, 57, revealed some relationship advice that's left an impact on her during her 18-year marriage to Urban.

“The greatest advice I was given was there’s the individual — so there’s the me and the you — and there’s the we. And that’s only you," she told Beckham, 50. "No one else has what you two create, or what Keith and I create, any married couple who are partners, any people who have chosen to be in a relationship together, we create this, so we decide what this is."

"If you really like the person–really love them, but really like them, too, god it helps," she added.

Beckham then asked Kidman: "Isn’t it great that someone supports us and lets us do what we love?”

“Compromise as well. A lot," Kidman added. "It’s always trial and error, and sometimes it’s imbalanced and then it gets back in balance…We don’t gloat about it. People always ask, ‘What’s your marriage advice?’ We don’t have any! Everyone does their own thing and creates it. I’m not some relationship guru. I’m just trying to find my own way."

Kidman also revealed in the conversation that she and her country star husband, 56, have a sweet morning routine that's all about affection. “It’s such an unstable industry and he’s my solace," she said. "Every day we get up in the morning and we go for a walk–and we hold hands. We love holding hands.”

When asked if she had any relationship advice of her own to offer, Beckham admitted that, "it’s about respecting each other."

"It’s not always easy, and I think if you can find someone you can grow with, then I think you’ve been very blessed," the fashion designer and founder of Victoria Beckham Beauty — who also starred on the cover of the magazine — said of her husband David, 49.

"We all change when we get older and the ultimate goal is to find someone we can grow with. I remember being in relationships when I was younger and saying, ‘You’ve changed.’ Well, of course you’ve changed as you get older! That’s what happens. How great if you can find your soulmate who changes and evolves and grows older with you. I feel very lucky.”

Just last month, Victoria — who spoke with Kidman about her lifelong "passion to be in fashion and beauty" and her successful career in both — celebrated her milestone 25th wedding anniversary with David.

The pair shared their own Instagram posts to mark the occasion, including images of their wedding cake, Victoria wearing her Vera Wang ballgown and David on a private plane with family (including the pair's now-adult son Brooklyn when he was just a baby).

"Looking back on the days leading up to our wedding 25 years ago brings back so many amazing memories… I love you so much @DavidBeckham," Victoria captioned her post.

Speaking with Kidman for Vogue Australia about her wedding anniversary, the former Spice Girl added that the milestone was "such an achievement."

"I said to him last night — and the kids — after 25 years, I love your dad so much and I support him and continue to want him to be the best version of himself, and he does that for me," Victoria told Kidman. "And it’s really important that the children see that."

"I feel very thankful and grateful that I have not compromised with my career, and I can still do what I love, and I enjoy it. Me and David can go away, just the two of us, and we laugh and we enjoy that time, and I think that’s so rare after so many years. It’s a pinch-me moment every day.”
