On Monday, September 30, the actress arrived at the Balenciaga womenswear spring/summer 2025 runway show in a chic all-black look. She waved and blew kisses to fans who showed her some extra love following the recent death of her mother. Kidman, 57, donned a form-fitting black turtleneck midi dress with ribbon-like details that formed a train behind her. She also added all-black accessories — stockings, stilettos and a small purse — as well as jewelry by David Yurman. Her long, blonde hair was worn down in an effortless style. The mother-daughter duo looked chic in coordinating black outfits. Naomi Watts and Maya Rudolph also brought their teenage children to the stylish event. On Saturday, Sept. 7, the star announced she would be leaving the Venice Film Festival, where her film Babygirl was premiering, due to her mother's passing. Director Halina Reijn shared the news at the festival on behalf of Kidman in what would have been her acceptance speech for best actress. In the statement, the Australian actress wrote that she had flown in to Venice, only to find out "shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, has just passed."
