Bandmates Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre recently opened up to PEOPLE about how touring looks different for them these days ahead of a 13-stop tour that will take them into the holiday season. "Well, I think what's better for us is we have more fun. Back in the day, there was a lot of pressure compared to a lot of other groups, and the pressure of being on the road constantly to stay relevant. Now, we have so many things going on. Our career has been established, we all have families," Jeff, a father of four, says. "So when we get a chance, an opportunity to be out there in front of our fans and tour together, there's no pressure anymore other than making sure we put on good show, which thankfully, we are still able to do," he adds. "I think it's more fun for us. It's sort of icing on the cake to what we felt is a really great blessed career." "Because back in the day, it was literally just the four of us, kind of with an 'us against the world' mentality. Now we have kids and families and things that are also obviously hugely important to us. So it's trying to strike that balance between being invested in our career, but also being there for our families and personal lives." Nick shares three kids — sons Camden, 12, and Phoenix, 7, and daughter Brooklyn, 9 — with wife Vanessa Lachey. "I think they're just happy to get us out of the house," jokes Drew, who shares son Hudson, 14, and daughter Isabella, 18, with wife Lea. How 98 Degrees 'Took a Page Out of Taylor Swift's Playbook' for Their New Album and Tour (Exclusive) "Jeff and my kids are growing up and getting older. Nicks' still got some youngins," he says with a laugh. "For us, I think they all know what they signed up for. This has been part of our lives for going on 30 years now. So us touring, us making music, us spending time in the studio, that's all part of who we are," Drew notes. "And we're all very fortunate to have supportive families who have this understanding of what we do. They know that regardless of how long we're on the road, we're always thinking about them. And FaceTime always makes that stuff easier," he adds. You can catch the band on their fall tour, where they'll be mixing classics with new tunes. Visit 98degrees.com for upcoming tour dates. Close
