The Star Wars actress, 25, opened up about her aversion to over-sharing in a new interview with Glamour, saying she’s protective of her privacy. “It’s not good for me, personally. I’m just not equipped for it. I’m super sensitive—not too sensitive—but I really feel things,” she said. “Also, there is also a sense that I’m asked who I’m dating a lot more than John [Boyega] is. I don’t answer, because I have things in my life that are private.” Ridley admitted that she fears she might come across as “ungrateful” but that she’s learned the importance of putting herself first. Steven Pan “There is certainly a personal thing of, ‘Will people think I’m ungrateful?’ Someone literally said to me, ‘So-and-so didn’t answer questions about that, and they came across really cold,'” she said. “But I have to come first, because if I am not healthy—I was struggling with anxiety last year—if I’m not mentally healthy, or I’m depleted from sharing so much, I won’t have anything left for when people approach me.” RELATED VIDEO: Daisy Ridley on Landing a Role in “Star Wars” After Months of Auditions Steven Pan Ridley deleted her Instagram account in 2016 after she received backlash for posting a message in support of victims affected by gun violence. “I just want to be on my phone less! Trying to be more present and all that and got a busy few months ahead so wanted less distractions… It’s all good! :)” she wrote of her decision to leave, according to fan account. “I always appreciate the support and love the Instagram community! X.” Ridley first joined Instagram in 2015, and became known for her uplifting messages about self-acceptance and body positivity. Close
