The country star, 40, announced that her new, 14-track album Postcards From Texas will be released on Friday, Sept. 13. Alongside the album announcement, Lambert unveiled her latest single with the bluesy divorce anthem, "Alimony." "I called that lawyer up in Dallas, the one who’s livin’ in that palace / So I know he’s good at winnin’, if you think there’s somethin’ that you’re missin,'" she boasts on the track. For the song, the "Drunk" singer knew she wanted "a shuffle." "Everybody loves a shuffle," Lambert said in a press release statement. She added, "My parents were private investigators in Dallas, Texas who worked a ton of divorce cases in highfalutin parts of town, so this wasn’t hard to write. I’d heard about it my whole life." "We used every Texas metaphor we could come up with on purpose; we wanted to take something kind of s---ty and put some humor back in it. I mean, the guy gets out pretty easy if all he does is move back in with his mom," Lambert said. Miranda Lambert Teases Her 'Very Country' Next Album: 'You Can Tell We Made It in Texas' (Exclusive) In May, the "Wranglers" performer told PEOPLE that her next album would be "very country." "I made this record in Texas. I hadn't made an album in Texas since I was 18," Lambert said. "I went down to Arlyn Studios in Austin, and Jon Randall, who's my bestie and co-writer and co-producer, we worked together a lot." She continued: "Just going home to Texas to make it felt really right for this new season and this new chapter. I signed with Republic Records ... and this new team has just given me so much fire and inspiration, because it's all about the music with them." Lambert shared the first taste of her forthcoming record back in May with “Wranglers”. Postcards From Texas will mark her first new solo music since the release of Palomino in 2022.
