In December, the chef told PEOPLE that she had recently hosted her granddaughter and five friends for the weekend and aimed to impress. "I cooked them the best gourmet meals I could conjure up," she said. "I was going to give them an apple tart lesson, but we ran out of time." Earlier that fall, Stewart shared photos on Instagram from her weekend with granddaughter Jude and her friends as they embraced all things autumn. "Phew! We survived the fabulous autumn weekend fest with six 12-year-old girls," Stewart declared in the caption. Stewart treated the group of girls to "Non-stop activities including pumpkin carving, glamping, hiking, horseback riding, eating, apple picking, apple cider pressing, etc. etc." "I received the best thank you notes and we all slept well after the two-day fun-filled weekend," she added, showing off some of the girls' handmade cards. "The girls are fabulous. Smart. Amusing. Thoughtful. And above all lovely human beings!!!!!!!!!" Close
