Luke Bryan Jokes His 'Goal' Is to Get His Sons Bo and Tate to Add His Music to Their Daily Playlists

Luke Bryan has one goal with his new album, Mind of a Country Boy — to make it on his sons' playlists.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the country singer and American Idol host, 48, spoke about his album, noting that he'd love for his sons to create playlists with his songs on them.

Bryan shares his sons Thomas "Bo" Boyer, 16, and Tatum "Tate" Christopher, 14, with wife Christine.

“It’s fun. And you know, I’m at home with my boys and they’re hearing the songs," Bryan said. "My goal is to try to enter into their daily playlist on their phones."

“If you can enter into to your [teenager’s] playlist, you know, with all their stuff, because my children get on the farm, and then they have these little speakers on their little side-by-sides," he continued. "And then they start blasting hip-hop and rap across the farm. And there’s like boom, boom, boom."

"And they’re saying all the words they’re not supposed to be saying. And then they pull back around the lake and it’s like, the Mind of a Country Boy. Then I hear that on their speaker. I’m like, ‘What have y’all been listening to?’ They’re like, ‘Your album Dad,' " Bryan joked.

While appearing on Audacy's Rob + Holly podcast in January, Bryan chatted with hosts Rob Stone and Holly Hutton about how his family wants to follow in his footsteps and recreate a trip together that Bryan previously took by himself.

"I’ve done an Amazon peacock bass fishing trip. My children know that I’ve done it, and they want to go do it," the musician said.

"It’s all about including the family on these things too. I’ve got a lot of crazy little things that we’ll try to check off the list as a family. I’ve done a really, really great job of brainwashing [my] children into doing exactly what I like to do.”
