Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky Have Secretly Been Engaged for Months, Says Source: 'Everyone's Excited' (Exclusive)

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky kept their engagement under wraps for months.

A source told PEOPLE that the couple got engaged "several months" ago, but chose to share the news only within their inner circle at the time. When Gaga celebrated her 38th birthday at a dinner party with friends back in March, Polansky had already popped the question, the insider said. However, Gaga didn't wear her engagement ring to the party to avoid being photographed with it.

"The couple shared the happy news with family and close friends right away, but wanted to keep the engagement private otherwise," the source revealed, adding that Gaga and Polansky are now planning their wedding together, much to the delight of their loved ones.

"Everyone’s excited about them getting married," the source said. As for the 13-time Grammy winner, she is "the happiest with Michael."

"They’re great together. He’s excited and supportive of her career. He can’t stand being in the spotlight, but lets her shine. He has his own business priorities that she’s supportive of," the source added.

In addition to their wedding, the pair have other big plans for the future. "They both would love to have a family," the insider shared.

Gaga revealed her engagement to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In a TikTok video shared by Attal on Sunday, July 28, the "Born This Way" singer can be heard introducing Polansky as "my fiancé" while the trio watched a swimming event together in the stands at the Paris Aquatic Centre.

She and the tech investor were first romantically linked in 2020 after they were spotted kissing at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas. They went public with their relationship just weeks later during a PDA-filled weekend in Miami for the 2020 Super Bowl.

In a sweet moment earlier this month, Gaga shouted out Polansky during one of her final Jazz & Piano concerts at Park MGM's Dolby Live in Las Vegas. She took a moment to dedicate her July 5 performance to her fiancé, calling him "my mister" as she spoke to the crowd.

Last fall, Polansky supported Gaga after she made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live in October. He stepped out with the A Star Is Born actress to the show's official cast afterparty. The pair were photographed holding hands as they made their way inside L'Avenue in New York City.

When the couple gathered with friends to celebrate Gaga's birthday this March, they "looked very happy together," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

“He let her shine and made sure she had everything she needed. She was smiling and laughing all night,” the source said, adding, “It was a fun celebration.”
