Katy Perry Holds Hands with Orlando Bloom as They Leave American Idol Season Finale Afterparty

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are stepping out in style.

The couple were pictured hand-in-hand as they left the American Idol season finale afterparty in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 19, after Perry’s final appearance as a judge on the show after seven years.

Perry, 39, looked dazzling in a nude asymmetric corset decorated in rhinestones, which she paired with a matching draped skirt with a side slit and gold strappy heels. She wore her hair in loose curls and sported pink lipstick and white nails. 

Meanwhile, Bloom, 47, wore a black and white varsity jacket, white T-shirt and dark blue jeans as he came out to support Perry on her special night with her Idol family amid her exit from the show.

The couple was joined at the wrap party by fellow Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, who attended with his girlfriend Lisa Parigi, and host Ryan Seacrest. 

For the American Idol finale taping earlier in the evening, Perry wore another striking corset in a custom gold design by Grace Ling Couture, with seven roses molded across it representing the singer’s seven seasons on the show.

Perry posted photos of her modeling the corset paired with a white draped skirt on Instagram following the show. “🥀 7 roses for 7 seasons 🥀 143 #idol 🫶🏼,” she explained in the caption.

The designer of the dress revealed in a clip posted on Instagram Stories that the corset was still being stitched to the skirt at 2:00 a.m. ahead of the live show, though thankfully the design was completed in time.

Perry appeared very emotional during her final appearance on American Idol as contestant Abi Carter was crowned the winner of the 2024 series. 

The singer was seen shedding tears as she hugged her fellow judges Bryan, 47, and Richie, 74, while Carter, 21, performed Billie Eilish's 2024 hit song "What Was I Made For?" during the finale. 

Perry became a judge on American Idol alongside Bryan and Richie in 2018 as the show returned on ABC following its original 15-season run on Fox.

In February, the "Bon Appétit" singer announced her departure from the show on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while teasing more projects to come later in 2024.

“I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for Idol,” Perry confirmed at the time. “I mean I love Idol so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat, you what I’m saying?”
