Jane’s Addiction Cancels Reunion Tour, Announces Hiatus After Onstage Band Fight: 'Difficult Decision' 

The Jane's Addiction reunion tour has come to an abrupt end.

After lead singer Perry Farrell threw a punch at guitarist Dave Navarro onstage during the band's Sept. 13 show in Boston, the group announced the remainder of their tour is canceled in a post on social media.

"To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group," read a statement released on Sept. 16. "As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour."

The statement went on to assure fans that "refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase." The band's socials then directed those who purchased tickets via outlets like StubHub and SeatGeek to reach out to the companies directly.

While Farrell wasn't mentioned directly in the post, Navarro released a separate statement — signed by him and bandmates Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery — giving more insight into the band's decision to take a break.

"Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour," his Instagram post began.

Navarro, 57, continued, "Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs."

"We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets," he wrote, adding, "We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis."

The message concluded, "Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen."

Farrell also took to his Instagram Stories and shared a statement about the incident. "This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show," he wrote.

"Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation," continued Farrell.

Jane's Addiction played 17 shows before calling it quits on the reunion tour. The group had 15 concerts to go — but they've all now been canceled.
