The musician and the actress, who tied the knot in August 2023, were all smiles when they arrived at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the UBS Arena in New York. The couple arrived in coordinating looks, with Antonoff, 40, wearing a burnt orange button down, a pair of black trousers, a black woven belt and his signature circle frame glasses. Meanwhile, the Maid star, 29, wore a black velvet dress with a deep v-neckline outlined by tulle. Her drop-waist dress skirt was made of feather material that fanned out into an A-line silhouette. Antonoff's appearance at the MTV awards show comes on the heels of two nominations with his frequent collaborator Taylor Swift. Antonoff, Swift and Post Malone were nominated for song of the year and best collaboration awards for their work on "Fortnight," from Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Along with Swift's two nominations with Antonoff, the "Clara Bow" singer, 34, was nominated for an additional eight awards. For "Fortnight" alone, she was nominated in an additional five other categories, for video of the year, best art direction, best visual effects, best cinematography, best editing and best direction. Swift was also nominated for artist of the year and best pop. Swift, Antonoff and Qualley sat together during the awards show, with Swift and Antonoff often singing and dancing along to various performances together. The celebrated music producer also worked with nominee Sabrina Carptener on her second single, "Please Please Please" from her third studio album, Short 'n Sweet. The song itself was nominated in two categories: best direction and best art direction. Carpenter, 25, was nominated for six awards at this year's show, "It’s wild," Antonoff said of the success he's had with both pop stars during a Today show appearance on Thursday, July 4.
