Dierks Bentley and Daughter Evie Have 'an Abnormal Amount of Pride' in Their Impressive DIY

The "Woman, Amen" singer took a break from his back-to-back shows for a weekend project with the family

Even while he’s busy headlining his tour, Dierks Bentley still manages to find time for a little DIY at home with his daughter.

The “Woman, Amen” singer shared a series of photos on Instagram of his new garage shelves, which he built himself over the weekend with a little assistance from 10-year-old Evalyn, who goes by Evie.

“In between three shows this weekend, I was able to build these garage shelves,” Bentley wrote. “That I’m posting pics shows my abnormal amount of pride in the project ha.”

Bentley’s photo series documented the entirety of the shelf-building process, which began in a Home Depot parking lot. In one photo, Evie can be seen giving two thumbs up while standing in front of an SUV that’s loaded up with wood.

In another, Evie holds a stud finder against a white wall in her garage.

In the next image, Evie shows off their first beam, which she and her 14-time-Grammy-nominated dad drilled into the wall and leveled off. Bentley also shared an image of Evie standing with a screwdriver in front of the nearly finished shelves before they were painted.

He showed off the completed white shelves, as his son Knox, 5, stands in front of them, playing with toys. (Bentley is also father to daughter Jordan, 8, whom he shares with wife Cassidy Black.)

“Will never look at shelves the same way again,” Bentley concluded in his caption. “thanks #evieoninstagram for the help.”

The “Burning Man” singer previously told PEOPLE that no matter how busy he gets, he will always make time for his kids, and often brings his children to concerts, festivals and even as his dates to awards shows when he can.

“They love traveling, touring. Whenever it’s possible, we just drag them out there,” he said. “I feel like that’s my main job really — being a dad.”
