Heidi Klum is the "Queen of Halloween!"

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE as she launches Modelverse — an online fashion experience she created and designed for Roblox — the supermodel, 51, opens up about her Halloween dos and don'ts as spooky season commences.

When asked whether there is a timeframe when it is too early to decorate for Halloween, Klum says, "Now is the time."

"I'm really into spider webs, so I love them inside of the house and outside of the house. Everything will be webbed in here, from the chandeliers to the trees — like, you have to go through a lot of webbing in the house," she continues, detailing her indoor decor plans.

"Or when you come to the front door, this ghost thing starts moving, and we have things popping up, hands coming out of the ground," adds the America's Got Talent judge. "I like all of that stuff."

As for costumes, Klum encourages Halloween lovers to start planning their outfits early, and not wait until the last minute.

"I think planning [is important]. I think a lot of people just wait, and then they're like, 'Oh, it's Halloween. What am I going to do?' " she says.

But, for those who tend to wait until there's little time left, Klum says there are always options around to make a great costume.

"We all have a lot of things in the house that you can make something with," she explains. "... I feel like a lot of things you can find around the house, or in the basement, or in your closet."

When asked if she has one type of candy that she is not a fan of and would get rid of this Halloween season, Klum says nothing comes to mind.

"No, I don't have that," the mother of four tells PEOPLE after taking a moment to think.

Klum is known for her extravagant costumes and annual Halloween party in New York City. In years past, the star has gone as a peacock, a worm, a zombie mom, a werewolf, an alien zombie, Jessica Rabbit, Princess Fiona from Shrek and even clones of herself.

She recently told PEOPLE that she’s been working on this year's Halloween costume “for months already," explaining, "Because molds need to be made. Prosthetics need to be made, fittings have to be had."

"There goes a lot into it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can just throw together overnight," Klum added. "It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning. And also then when I do the reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans and those particular Halloween fans are people who love also dressing up and coming up with amazing things.”
