"She's busy with her family down in Miami," the source says. "She has a totally full life and she's very busy with her kids." The source adds, "Plus, she's been working more than she has in 20 years this past year. She has so many projects; she's been working all the time. She's been working tirelessly this past week to help her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is suffering from the most devastating flood it's ever had. She has family there and she's been consumed with worry." Bündchen also reopened her charity brazilfoundation.org to raise money for relief efforts, the source noted. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images Bündchen was all smiles at the Met Gala in May 2023, her first Met Gala after splitting from ex-husband Tom Brady, where she wore a white silk tulle Chanel dress stitched with vertical stripes of white sequins with a coordinating cape embellished with feathers and camellias. Both pieces were from the Chanel Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2007 collection. The look fit right in with the theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which honored the German fashion designer following his death in February 2019 at age 85. It was no surprise that Bündchen honored Lagerfeld on the Met carpet, as a longtime face of Chanel and a close collaborator of the late designer. Speaking to PEOPLE following Bündchen and Brady’s divorce, a source close to the supermodel hinted that the Met Gala was a priority on her calendar. "Gisele will do what she needs to do and go where she needs to be, and I think that includes the Met Gala red carpet," the source said in January 2023. Her attendance last year was her first Met Gala in 15 years without Brady, whom she divorced in October 2022. The exes first attended together in 2008, one year before they wed, and quickly became celebrated as a power couple at the event for their complementary looks. Bündchen and Brady, 46, later co-chaired the 2017 "Art of the In-Between" exhibit honoring the work of Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, and most recently attended the Met together in 2019. Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute, said this year's display will be inspired by three main "zones" — Land, Sea, and Sky — that pay tribute to the natural world.
