Dua Lipa is spicing up her Diet Coke.

While in Austin to perform at Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 5, the "Houdini" pop star stopped by a local restaurant and doctored up her soda in a unique way. Her concoction caught the curious eyes of onlookers, according to her TikTok video.

Lipa started by pouring out a Diet Coke can into a plastic cup. She then did the unexpected: She poured pickle juice in the soda. After funneling the briny liquid in her drink, she put a couple of whole pickles into the cup.

But the mixing didn’t stop there. The singer then added jalapeño juice into her beverage creation.

“Everyone is starting at me,” she said as she added in whole jalapeños. “The lady in the back is like, ‘What the hell is she doing?’”

After mixing everything together, she took a sip and then handed it off to her table of friends, who had very mixed reactions.

“It’s randomly not bad,” one friend said, while another said, “Oh that one’s really pickle-y.”

Another friend was clearly not a fan as she made a sour face after her taste test.

Finally, fans got to see Lipa’s reaction to her pickle-jalapeño Diet Coke. “That is,” she trailed off with a look of satisfaction.

Fun twists on plain soda have been bubbling up on social media especially since the release of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Several of the stars on the show drink dirty sodas, which are soda drinks mixed with various add-ons like syrups and creamers to enhance the taste.

Dirty sodas became a mocktail-esque mainstay in the state in the 2010s likely because Utah has a large Mormon population who don't typically drink alcohol because of their religion.

In March, Coffee Mate and Dr. Pepper got in on the trend and released a coconut lime creamer specifically made for crafting a dirty soda. Though the creamer company normally caters to coffee, as the name suggests, the limited-time creamer is meant to be added to soda (ideally Dr Pepper) instead.

More recently, influencers have been testing out the trend with protein shakes. Wishbone Kitchen's Meredith Hayden tried it and gave it a rave review.

"Wow that is phenomenal," she said. "If you like a coke float or root beer float this is like identical."
