Mandy Moore Is Investigating 'Medical Miracles' That Are Actually a 'Time Bomb' in 'Dr. Death' Season 2 Trailer

“You've always had great instincts, maybe you should trust them,” one character tells Moore as she begins her investigation

Dr. Death’s season 2 is delving into the secrets of the “Miracle Man.”

Peacock dropped a new trailer for the second season of the series, which will follow investigative journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore) as she uncovers the story of Dr. Paolo Macchiarini (Édgar Ramírez), a surgeon developing artificial organs to heal patients.

In the trailer, Moore’s character treads a dangerous line as she produces a special about Paolo’s medical work at the hospital, which one character describes as “medical miracles,” while having an affair with him.

“Your patients, they really trust you,” Benita tells Paolo in the trailer, as shots show him performing the surgeries.

“Do you trust me?” he asks as they get closer.

In another shot, Benita sits on a bed and looks over her shoulder at a sleeping Paolo followed by a scene of her on the phone appearing to ask someone to “look into” him for her. “You've always had great instincts, maybe you should trust them,” Benita is advised.

However, she’s not the only one who is raising concern over Paolo’s practices. Dr. Nathan Gamelli (Luke Kirby) also sounds the alarm after it appears that one of Paolo’s patients takes a turn for the worse after appearing to be fine.

“My team and I have to deal with very extreme cases,” Paolo says.

“Just the ones extreme enough that nobody will notice when you kill them,” Nathan replies angrily.

Another character notes, Paolo is “experimenting on people,” as the trailer features one patient getting a transplant. “She's sitting there with a bloody timebomb in her throat,” says Dr. Ana Lasbey (Ashley Madekwe).

The trailer ends with the patient flatlining on the medical table as Paolo says, “Welcome back.”
