Celebrity Kids at Prom The twins' prom came just days after CNN released surveillance video footage of an altercation between Combs and Casandra "Cassie" Ventura that matches allegations she made in the now-settled lawsuit from last November. In November, Combs was sued by Ventura, who accused the music mogul of rape, sex trafficking, domestic violence and more. A day later, the two announced they resolved the claims in the lawsuit to their "mutual satisfaction," they said. The parties added that there will be no further details about the terms of the agreement released publicly. “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Ben Brafman, Combs' lawyer, clarified his client's stance on the issue, telling PEOPLE in a statement, "Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best." Diddy. Shareif Ziyadat/Getty Ventura and Combs met in 2005 when she was 19 years old and he was 37. He then signed her to his label Bad Boy Records, and the two later began dating. In the footage CNN released on Friday, May 17, Ventura can be seen trying to flee the hotel room and walking toward an elevator. Combs follows her and can be seen grabbing her by the neck and throwing her to the ground before he kicks her and grabs her purse and suitcase. He then kicks her again and begins dragging her back to the hotel room, before he lets go of his grip and walks away. Then, Combs can be seen sitting in a chair and grabbing something from a nearby table, throwing it at Ventura and walking away. He also faces her again when someone else exits the elevator. On Sunday, May 19, Combs shared a statement via an Instagram video, with the caption: "I'm truly sorry." "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life," he said in the clip. "Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f---ed up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable."
