Devin Dawson and Leah Sykes Welcome First Baby, Daughter Iris Evelaine: 'So Much Love'

Devin Dawson and Leah Sykes are parents!

In a joint Instagram post, the two musicians revealed that they welcomed their first baby together, a daughter named Iris Evelaine Durrett.

Sharing pictures of the couple with their baby in the hospital, the new parents revealed that their daughter was born "on the 4th of July at 9:13pm as the fireworks lit up the Nashville sky."

"8lbs on the dot and 20in long," they continued in the caption. "Momma and baby are both doing well and to say I’m so proud of both is an understatement. We are tired and happy and finding a rhythm and just so in awe."

"Thank you to all of our family and friends for all the continued support. Taking a few weeks off of music to soak up every bit of this as much as i possibly can," they wrote, adding, "So much love all around. 💜🎀"

In January, Dawson, 34, and Sykes, 26 shared a joint post on Instagram announcing the exciting news that they were expecting their first baby together. The pair also revealed they would be welcoming a baby girl.

Posting a few photos, the happy couple posed with their sonogram photos outside and inside their house, with Sykes placing a hand on her bump in one photo. Another photo showed the couple with their two dogs, holding up their sonogram photos on a couch.

"This has been the hardest secret to keep but… we couldn’t be more excited to share that we will be welcoming our baby GIRL this July! 🩷," they captioned their post.

In 2019, Dawson and Sykes tied the knot in Franklin, Tennessee. Ahead of their wedding, the couple chatted with PEOPLE about what life together would look like.

At the time, Dawson said he was excited to take their love to the “ultimate level.”

“I’m excited to celebrate with our family, to grow together even stronger, to work through the hard times, to start a family and to always have someone closer than close,” he said.
