Demi Moore Says Sleeping with Her Dogs Is Part of ‘Eccentric’ Nighttime Routine

Demi Moore can’t get enough of her pups!

The actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Sept. 9, and revealed that her "eccentric" night routine involves settling into bed with her herd of dogs. 

"I sleep with dogs," Moore, 61, told host Jimmy Fallon. "If anybody saw my nighttime routine, if it was filmed, they would really see how eccentric I really am."

The actress continued to explain that her routine ensures that her dogs are comfortable in her bed.

"I have to prop pillows so the ones that are this size have the ability to get under the covers," she said while demonstrating the act. "I have two beds for the little ones, so that they have the beds within the bed."

Laughing, Fallon responded, "You take care of them."

"Of course! Hence why I'm single," she joked.

Earlier in the interview, Moore spoke about her 1.2-pound dog Pilaf, whom she is often photographed with. "She's the runt of her litter. She's a magical creature,” she said of the Chihuahua. Fallon noted that when he met the pup backstage, her "tongue permanently stays out," to which the actress explained was because she "lost the teeth that hold it in, but it's part of her charm."

The host also shared a video of Moore’s dogs waiting for her to return after she left the house. In the clip, the actress can be seen opening the door, which reveals eight dogs staring at her in the entrance. "That's like a cartoon! That’s like The Secret Life of Pets,” he exclaimed, in reference to the 2016 animated film. "They're all in their beds, like, 'Hi, what's going on?' "

Last month, Pilaf graced the cover of Vogue's special "celebri-dog" collection called Dogue, which also featured Glen Powell's pup Brisket and Billie Eilish's canine Shark. In the accompanying interview, Moore shared that her daughter Tallulah Willis found Pilaf on Facebook during the COVID-19 pandemic and arranged for the dog to be flown to Los Angeles from Thailand. 

"She was meant to be with me, and I was meant to be with her," Moore said of the tiny pup.

On Sept. 8, Naomi Watts arranged for Pilaf to meet her costar Bing, the Great Dane from her movie The Friend, at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. Moore, who was at the festival to promote her movie The Substance, shared the interaction on Instagram. The post featured a set of photos and a video showcasing the two dogs' dramatic stature differences, one of which was of Pilaf standing near the larger dog's head.

"Highlight from @tiff_net — @pilaf.littlemouse meets @bing.the.great.dane, the canine star of #TheFriend!," Moore captioned the post. "Thank you @naomiwatts for coordinating this meetup. Unlikely but fast friends 🐶⭐️.”
