"So I think the way [director Daniel Minahan] filmed it, the way he allowed space for us to get to know each other and to play, and all of Jacob and I's early scenes in the film, we shot first, which was great," said Jones, particularly because their closely connected characters are soon separated for much of the film. Elordi, 27, added that he enjoyed leaning into his "cowboy" character, and echoed that their chemistry was "immediately there." He said that when he "had to audition for the film with Dan and Daisy, and it was more like a workshop and we danced and [played] cards. It was pretty clear immediately in that moment that we were going to be able to find that connection."
