With a sexy new album and a hot summer tour, Luke Bryan is keeping very busy these days.

Still, we caught up with the singer between stops on his Kick the Dust Up tour for a quick catch-up session in the new issue of PEOPLE. Here’s what he had to say:

Your new album Kill the Lights includes the very sexy "Strip It Down." Did your wife serve as the inspiration for it?
Yes, Caroline is definitely an inspiration behind the song – it’s just sexy to be thinking about her when I’m writing. This song feels like new territory for me. It’s fun putting songs out you know people are going to be slow dancing or falling in love to.

You’ve been selling out shows all summer. Is life on the road one big party for you?
I’ve matured. I get off the stage and have a beer or two and then I get into bed to do another two-hour show the next day. My thing is, I do what I need to do to do my job at the best level. My fans deserve that. That’s where my head is at these days.

With news of Blake and Miranda and other high profile couples splitting lately, does it make you stop and think about your own marriage?
Any time we hear of couples in the public eye breaking up, me and Caroline talk about it. It really hurts our hearts that people arrive at that and can’t work it out. Yeah, you do think about it in this business. Caroline and I just say our prayers that we’re happy and that things are good.

Next summer you turn the big 4-0!
I wish I could be 30, but there’s no way around it, so you try to eat as good as you can and understand you’re going to be a little more sore after shows. Caroline says growing old is a privilege, so you gotta understand it like that.
