You almost think, ‘Wow, this is very pretty.’ ” Though she might sing it like an angel, Underwood, 33, and her marriage to Mike Fisher didn’t serve as inspiration for the relationship-gone-wrong song. “I wanted to write [Tim McGraw‘s] ‘It’s Your Love’ in reverse,” says Bones, 35, who duets with Underwood on the song. “Guys are disgusting, they leave dirty dishes everywhere, pee on the toilet seat… It was just a real life tongue in cheek relationship song. “I’ve never been married, I’m still single. I’ve never been into these relationships that start off all romantic and by the end of it we’re like, ‘Ahh, we can’t stand each other,’ ” says Bones. “We started writing and Keifer’s married and his perspective was we can’t stand each other sometimes, but we’re still married and we still love each other. It started out really hot and romantic and now we can’t stand each other but you know what? That’s part of it. That’s part of being in a relationship that works.” Don’t miss a beat of country music news, photos and videos! Click here to get all this and more in the PEOPLE Country Newsletter. So was Bones surprised that Underwood agreed to sing it? “Carrie’s awesome and funny and she is totally cool,” he says. “But it did feel like I won the Powerball that she agreed to do it.” Proceeds from each download of “We Can’t Stand Each Other” will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
