Where Should LeBron James Party (and Eat) in Miami?

As LeBron James may already know, Cleveland has the coolest rock ‘n’ roll museum in the nation but South Beach has some of the hottest nightlife around.

When the newest member of the Miami Heat and his fellow All-Stars Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade shape up at the David Barton Gym in Ganesvoort South before hitting the Miami club scene, they may find themselves lifting weights or getting a cardio-workout next to Gwen Stefani, Fergie or Adam Sandler, all of whom have broken a sweat there before.

No stranger to the South Florida scene, James has already enjoyed a taste of Miami’s good life well before signing with the Miami Heat.

In the Club

In February, James hosted a dozen for dinner at STK Miami Beach. The group started the night with a bottle of champagne. James also ordered Lil Big Mac sliders, a strip steak and truffle French fries. At one point, he ordered a round of shots for the table and toasted in honor of Wade, who wasn’t at the dinner, for winning the All-Star game MVP award.

Last Thursday, just minutes after James announced on ESPN that he’s joining the Heat, Wade celebrated with a steak dinner at Prime 112, then headed to SET nightclub with a group of close friends, including assistant Heat coach David Fizdale.

Where to go after a big dinner?

Coco de Ville is a celebrity favorite. There’s free candy and an intimate, living room-like vibe that has drawn a who’s who of Young Hollywood, including Ed Westwick and the Kardashian sisters.

For lazy beachside afternoons, the basketball stars can head to the Fontainebleau, where James likes to stay, and Wade celebrated his birthday at its club LIV. They can also sip mojitos poolside, a spot that’s hosted R&R by the likes of Lady Gaga and Kate Hudson.

Where to Eat?

For a change of scenery, drive to Miami’s Design District and grab a meal at the trendy Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. The James Beard award-winning eatery has previously hosted Jennifer Aniston and been the site of a family dinner for Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri.

During basketball season, if the boys want to chat up colleagues off the court, there’s 14ThirtyFive, an NBA hangout. It’s a sophisticated martini bar inside the Four Seasons. San Antonio Spur Tony Parker and wife Eva Longoria Parker have been known to stop in for a drink.

And for late nights out, there’s the Florida Room at Delano. Known for killer cocktails, it was recently nominated for 2010’s Spirited Award by Tales of the Cocktail – the only North American spot on the list.

Plus, it has some A-list clientele, including Miami residents Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and famous visitors like Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.

With all the celebrities buzzing through town, it’s no coincidence that SoHo House is opening a Miami Beach location just weeks before the new Miami Heat dynasty will be gearing up for the season. With a planned location near the Fontainebleau, this exclusive private club has just named a board to begin selecting members.

Whether LeBron makes that team, well, it remains to be seen.
