People Editorial Guidelines Published on July 21, 1998 12:00AM EDT Billy Bob Thornton is home, and has been there as of Wednesday, following his admittance last weekend to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, says his publicist, Michelle Bega. She says he is recuperating from a “viral infection” and has denied reports that he had suffered a heart attack or that his hospitalization was due to an eating disorder. (Several years ago, the “Sling Blade” Oscar winner, 45, reportedly admitted to suffering anorexia nervosa.) Bega also addressed stories that Thornton’s reputedly bizarre diet of eating only orange-colored foods — papayas, carrots, pumpkins and oranges — had anything to do with his unspecified illness. “These are unfortunate rumors,” she said in a statement. “As far as him eating only orange food, I’ve personally seen him eat a salad, watermelon and even chicken.” Thornton’s wife, “Girl Interrupted” Oscar winner Angelina Jolie, reportedly flew in from her movie location in England to be by Thornton’s side for a brief visit. She is shooting “Tomb Raider,” based on the popular video game. Close
