Bridgerton Gets Pitbull's Seal of Approval After Stripping Down One of His Biggest Hits

Bridgerton has Pitbull's seal of approval!

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, May 21, the rapper, 43, showed that he fully supports the Netflix show's stripped-down version of his 2011 smash "Give Me Everything," performed by Archer Marsh.

"This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries more so how a hit song can remain timeless. Thank you @bridgertonnetflix and @netflix for the opportunity, Dale! @neyo @afrojack," Pitbull wrote next to a clip from the show.

Fans were shocked to hear a string cover of the dance track — which featured NE-YO, Afrojack and Nayer — play in the background of Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton's steamy carriage scene in the first part of season 3.

Its feature on the show comes years after the track spent 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, giving Pitbull his first number-one hit.

The song resonated with Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell, who recalled how she felt listening to the stripped-down version of the track for the first time in a recent interview with Business Insider.

"I gotta tell you, I'm not a regular Pitbull listener, but I heard that song on the playlist without realizing what song it was at first and just thought, this song has such an incredible build," Brownell told the outlet.

Brownell said the song fit perfectly in the scene, explaining, "If you think about that scene, it is years worth of their friendship and Penelope's crush coming to this giant crescendo."

"I listened to a lot of slower romantic songs, but none of them felt like they had the right impact and the right build and the right crescendo," continued Brownell. "And that Pitbull song has so many builds within it that it just, I think, kind of nails the dynamic that's happening in the scene."

Music supervisor Justin Kamps echoed the same sentiments while speaking to Tudum in an interview published earlier in May.

"The song is amazing, and it has this great build to it, and that’s what the scene really needed. It needed this anticipation and then an explosion into the main chorus of the song as we see what’s happening on-screen," said Kamps.

The first part of Bridgerton season 3 is streaming now on Netflix and part 2 drops on June 13.
