People Editorial Guidelines Published on December 5, 2023 03:05PM EST One of country music’s biggest stars may be teaming up with one of the biggest country fans in rap. While appearing on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brad Paisley revealed that he’s in the midst of finishing on his latest, currently undated album, Son of the Mountains — and that it may feature a Post Malone collaboration. The country music star, 51, told the talk show host that he’s gotten in the studio with the singer/rapper, 28, and opened up about what it’s like going out with him. “I worked with him a couple of nights,” Paisley shared on the late night show. “He’s amazing. I love him. He’s the greatest guy and he loves country music,” the Grammy winner said of the musician. “We’ll see if we do something. You never know.” Brad Paisley and Post Malone. Along for the ride is how it is for him.” “We were out,” the CMA Awards winner told the host — who admitted that he has also partied with the “Sunflower” artist, but only had the energy to do it once. “I did it twice,” the “She’s Everything” singer continued. “I’m hoping whatever we do in the future, we have to have some set rules.” “I was there all night one night and the other night, I went home a little earlier and he calls me at 11 a.m. and says, ‘Hey, if you can fix that one guitar part in the studio today, I’m going to bed,’ and it was at 11 a.m. That’s bedtime for him. You can’t roll with him.” Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley's Cutest Photos Together Paisley reflected on hanging out with the “Circles” artist several weeks after he shared a photo of the two together on Instagram. In the caption of the early November post, he wrote, “People at the Nashville Post Office are absolutely crazy,” and in the comments, Malone himself replied with an emoji of two cheers-ing beers. It wasn’t the first time the two hitmakers connected. After the Austin artist shared footage of him covering the country legend’s “I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)” for a March 2021 fundraiser on his TikTok in August 2022, Paisley ended up seeing it and being thoroughly impressed. Paisley raved about the performance in the comments, writing, "This is better than me." Thrilled by the comment, the “Better Now” artist replied by sharing a thoughtful video. "I love you so f---in' much man, thank you for the love, dude. I owe you a beer, man. Text me, I'll see you soon." It’s unclear if their collaborative relationship was born out of that moment, but Malone has long expressed his love for country music. Recently, he teamed up with HARDY and Morgan Wallen at the 2023 CMA Awards to perform a Joe Diffie medley, and he’s spoken in the past about his aspirations of writing a country album. On SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show in 2022, he said, "To be honest, there's nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [to put] on YouTube. I'm allowed to do that, I'm a human being." Next year, Paisley will release his latest full-length album, Son of the Mountains. To offer fans a taste for the project, four tracks arrived on what he called The First Four Songs EP in November. Close
