On Thursday, Aug. 8, the band featuring Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker announced on social media, "Unfortunately, due to illness, we are unable to make it to Kansas City and St. Louis," referring to their scheduled Aug. 9 and 10 shows in the respective cities. The rockers confirmed that anyone who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster would get a refund issued "automatically" and instructed those who bought through third-party resellers to contact such entities. "We are so sorry," Blink-182 added in the statement, "and hope to see you next time." Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 performs onstage at Madison Square Garden on May 19, 2023 in New York City. Back in early April, a promoter for the group's scheduled shows in Mexico City announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they had no choice but to cancel due to sick crew members. This news came just two days after the pop-punk icons called off another performance, per Billboard. Bassist Hoopus, via his Discord account, Billboard reported at the time, expressed his sympathy to fans in a message, writing, "We don’t take a cancellation lightly, we know our fans traveled, made plans, hired a babysitter. Our band and crew are sick. We had multiple lengthy (girthy) discussions all morning within the band, with the promoters, managers. We tried to move the date, we looked for solutions, but this is the reality." He concluded, "We appreciate your understanding and support." Blink-182 is currently on its One More Time tour, which concludes in Toronto on Aug. 15. The pop-punk icons announced the massive North American run — supporting their 2023 reunion album of the same name — in October, with 30 dates spanning the U.S. and Canada this summer. Blink-182 last performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday, Aug. 4, followed by concerts in Minneapolis and Milwaukee. After the summer tour, the band will head overseas for a stretch of dates in the U.K. later this month. Close
