Whether you’re catching a flight, running errands, or practicing yoga, a good pair of joggers will take you far. They’re comfortable and slightly less slouchy than a traditional sweatpant, so you’ll be cozy and cute wherever you go.

We’ve tried so many pairs of joggers ourselves, so we rounded up the ones that have stuck around despite frequent wear. Here are the best joggers for women, straight from our own closets.

A unique blend of cotton and silk makes these high-waisted joggers super soft and breathable. We love that they have an adjustable drawstring waistband and an oversized fit to ensure comfort all day. They’re also reversible with a faux shearling interior that can be worn outside, too, for an extra cozy look.

Material: 80% cotton, 14% model, 6% silk | Size range: XXS–XL | Colors: 2

Why We Love Them

“These joggers are some of the most comfortable sweats I've ever owned, not to mention the cutest. The silk-blend material is cozy without causing me to overheat (thanks, thermoregulation!) and it’s stood up to countless washes.”—Alyssa Brascia, shopping writer

Oprah has recommended Cozy Earth products on her favorite things list year after year, and we love the brand as much as she does. The studio joggers are a standout: We’re obsessed with the put-together slim fit and super soft fabric, and we appreciate that they’re warrantied against pilling and defects.

Material: 82% modal, 18% spandex| Size range: XS–XXL | Colors: 3

Why We Love Them

“I wore my Bamboo Viscose Cozy Earth set like a uniform last winter, and I'm happy to report that the recently released studio joggers are somehow even more breathable and soft. I love wearing these on travel days and while working from home.”—Erin Johnson, associate editorial director

Let’s be honest: Men’s loungewear is usually more comfortable. These Saxx joggers are so cozy with a super roomy silhouette and a breathable silk blend. Once you get your hands on these, you’ll want to wear them all day long.

Material: 52% viscose, 33% Tencel lyocell, 9% silk, 6% elastane | Size range: S–XXL | Colors: 2

Why We Love Them

“These are technically men's joggers, but they're ones you're going to want to ‘borrow’ consistently. I've had them for about two years now, and they are my go-to for lounging around the house.”—Erin Johnson

Shopping editor Madison Yauger swears by activewear brand Vuori, and she owns multiple pairs of the brand’s joggers. The Boyfriend Joggers are made of a soft jersey material, have a slightly baggy fit, and end at the ankle in a 7/8 length. They’re in it for the long haul: Yauger says all of Vuori’s joggers are “really well-made and last a long time.”

Material: 87% recycled polyester, 13% elastane | Size range: XXS–XXL | Colors: 5

These joggers were on Oprah's Favorite Things list, and it's easy to see why. Shopping writer Toni Sutton tried them for herself, and she loved the soft fabric, flattering fit, and quality construction. We're not the only ones who can't get over these buttery sweatpants: They have over 2,000 positive reviews!

What to Know About Joggers

Lifestyle

When shopping for joggers, stylist Naina Singla says it’s important to consider your lifestyle and activity level. “Decide if you want a relaxed jogger versus a more tailored look,” she explains. Relaxed joggers are ideal for lounging or cool, laidback street style, whereas more tailored fits might work better for running, yoga, and other forms of movement. Singla says you can also easily dress up a pair of tailored joggers with a pair of sneakers and either an oversized blazer or trench “for a smart, casual look.”

If you’re looking for a pair of comfy joggers to lounge in, we recommend the Saxx 22nd Century Silk Jogger. The Cozy Earth Bamboo Jogger is best for yoga and other low-impact workouts.

Fit

In addition to how you’ll wear your joggers, Singla says it’s also important to look at the fit, as joggers come in a variety of styles ranging from slim-fitting to oversized and baggy. If a tailored jogger is more your style, she recommends “a narrow pant leg that tapers at the ankles and has a mid-to-high-rise waistband” — like the Cozy Earth Studio Jogger and Bamboo Jogger. Conversely, for a baggy fit, we recommend the Lunya Reversible Joggers or Vuori Boyfriend Jogger.

Length

When shopping for joggers, Singla says to look for styles that have a close fit around the ankle. “They should taper at the ankle and end above your shoes rather than over them,” she adds, noting that a good styling fit trick is to have a little bit of space for your sock or skin to show through. Additionally, if you're above or below average height, then look into joggers that have an inseam length that corresponds to your height.

What is PEOPLE Tested?

We use our unique methodology to test products in three labs across the country and with our network of home testers to determine their effectiveness, durability, ease of use, and so much more. Based on the results, we rate and recommend products so you can find the right one for your needs.

But we don’t stop there: We also regularly re-review the categories in which we’ve awarded the PEOPLE Tested seal of approval — because the best product of today might not be the best of tomorrow. And by the way, companies can never buy our recommendation: Their products must earn it, fair and square.

In short, PEOPLE Tested provides recommendations you can trust — every day, every purchase.
